biohacking secrets sauna

If you are interested in biohacking and health optimization you are probably already familiar with Anthony DiClementi.  His book The Biohacker’s Guide to Upgraded Energy and Focus, his website BiohackingSecrets.com, and his podcast have become major hits.  He is one of the loudest voices in the “biohacking” community and has worked with CEOs, celebrities, and athletes to optimize energy levels, mental clarity, and fitness.  Not a surprise he is also a big sauna advocate.

“If we’re completely honest with one another, the reason I love the sauna is because I am lazy by nature. I don’t really like working out, I’m not the type of person that jumps out of bed in the morning and can’t wait to throw my sneakers on and go for a run or hit the gym. I do it a lot because it makes my day better, and I feel better, and I like the way I look more.”

DiClementi is a fan of the low effort high reward aspects of the sauna.  He recently posted a video on what he feels are the benefits of the sauna experience:

“The reality is the appeal of the sauna is that it’s a lot like working out. We see in the scientific literature that the impact it has on our body is very similar to the physiological effect of exercise, but the cool thing is you get it sitting on your butt like this. Who doesn’t find that appealing? If you don’t find that appealing I’m calling bulls**t.”

He has a strong belief that sauna may be what is missing to help cure the USA of the biggest health issues facing the country at the moment.

“What’s even cooler is that in America right now the number one and number two killers are cancer and heart disease. A recent study out of Finland showed that men who used the sauna four to seven times a week experienced a 60% decreased risk of all-cause mortality. No that’s a lie not all cause mortality mortality from cardiac events, so the number two killer is cardiac events and using this on a four-to-seven-times-a-week decreases your risk of cardiac events by 60%. How cool is that? Like it doesn’t make any sense for us to focus on anti-aging and longevity strategies until we’ve eliminated our risk of the top causes of death right? Like what’s gonna protect our body from cancer and keep our mitochondria and our immune system functioning optimally what’s gonna protect us from heart disease the answer to both of those or at least one of the answers to both of those is the sauna spending time in the sauna and doing it at the right frequency and intensity and duration right four to seven times a week at least 20 minutes in something like this…”

His beleif in sauna has a personal connection as well since his father suffers from Parkinson’s disease and he feels sauna has many benefits to people suffering from the disease:

“My dad has Parkinson’s which a lot of you guys know requires detoxification as part of the treatment they’re gonna clear lights on it too so if you guys are anything like me and you’re lazy or maybe you just want to protect yourself from some of the top causes of death in the United States so that you could experience your longest and best life get more years out of your life and more life out of your years then I highly recommend you checking out what they’re doing over at clear light it’s amazing, I love it. I’m gonna get back to my sauna”

When asked what the best investment of time energy or money he has ever made by highintensitybusiness.com podcast he said his infrared sauna : ”Out of all of the investments I’ve made we probably enjoy that one the most.” He continued: “When I’m consistently using that I feel more flexible, I feel more energetic, mood is better, skin looks better… It’s worth it.”
