Joe Rogan is a newish devotee of the the sauna.  Joe Rogan is basically the male Oprah these days.  His podcasts allegedly get around one hundred downloads each depending on the guests.  His hosting of the UFC is hugely popular.  One of his biggest characteristics is his obsession with physical fitness and rigorous self testing and investigating pretty deeply the science of optimal fitness and health.  He has lately turned his attention to the sauna, inspired by guests such as Rhonda Patrick.  She had been on the show discussing how sauna has been shown to reduce all cause mortality by 40%.

On his second day of sauna he posted a video to his Facebook page from his sauna during the session.  In this video he made some early observations in what he noticed from his earlier sauna experience.

“Day two in the sauna.  You can’t tell a whole lot from one day of use, but one thing I did find out almost immediately.  I’ve had a bunch of aches and pains, I’ve got some tendinitis in one of my elbows from being a meathead… and that tendinitis significantly reduced from a one hour session in the sauna.”  He added, “I like it.  I got out of the sauna and felt great.  As soon as I showered off I felt loose and all my weird little aches and pains felt phenomenal.”

He has continued posting about his sauna experiences and continues his routine in his studio and at home. He is currently using it 4 times a week for usually around 15 minutes.

When famous comedian/director/writer Judd Apatow was om the show demanding tips from Joe Rogan he highly recommended sauna use. “Saunas are incredibly effective.  Do you have a sauna?”  He continued: “saunas are giant, raising your body temperature like that and heat shock proteins are incredibly beneficial to your body. There was a story they put out recently that showed a 40% decrease in all-cause mortality due to people taking a regular sauna.  It just literally keeps your body healthier… it just reduces inflammation, it helps in so many different areas for people.  Just sit down in the hot room, it’s really good for your body.”  When Apatow asked how often to use the sauna Rogan answered: “four times a week, but I mean how hard is that man just force yourself to sit in it at home in particular?  You’ve got one at your gym, just go there and sit in that f**ker for 15 minutes doesn’t take long.”

When Rogan was asked if he has noticed any difference in how he feels since using the sauna he agreed he does.  “I feel great” When I come out of there i feel just chilled out, relaxed I just feel good. I feel alleviated.” “It’s so easy, I have it right here, I can get into the sauna any time I want.  I basically get into it every day.”
